2014 – December – on the hunt of the Meteor Storm

The Germalid Meteors were coming and I wanted some of that.

Unfortunately … they didn’t want any of me. Even at 2am on a very cold and desolate Saturday morning …

This is the only Meteor I was able to capture ... in 4 hours!

The moon really screws up star trails ... as does a frozen lens!

November 2012 – Atomic Chan

I got the opportunity to work with the fantastic Gemma Chan again.
This time I took her to a Nuclear Powerstation, and Simon acted as my lighting assistant.
It was cold.
It was raining.
It was slippery.
There was sea spray going everywhere.
Did we care?
Nope.

Hope you enjoy these as much as we did making them.

Windpower

The excellent Thomas Dolby wrote a track in the 80s for his album “The Golden Age of Wireless”.
If only he knew then what a blight these massive, inefficient machines have become on our beautiful landscape.

There are far more reliable ways of harnessing the renewable energy provided by nature; Edinburgh University developed the “Wave Snake” which basically used the motion provided by the waves to generate electricity through hydraulic action. Cheap, reliable and efficient.

More importantly, didn’t mean these obscene clusters of 150ft high towers.
